Our AT Life Blood team
Active Truth is part of the Lifeblood Teams program, where organisations and likeminded people unite to save lives. We love seeing the impact that our team is having on the blood supply in Australia. They even send you a text message telling you when and where your donation is being used.
It only takes an hour to give blood, but it could change someone’s life.
Today I visited my local donation centre at Chermside in Brisbane. As always the friendly staff and volunteers make you feel welcome and constantly remind you that you are doing something really special. Did you know that every donation can help save three lives? I mixed things up today and donated plasma. And its something that I am able to do fortnightly. It didn’t take long, I read a book, the snacks are always on point and I left knowing I did something good.
People from all walks of life need blood products. Some like my mother needed it to get her through cancer treatment, or like my girlfriend a difficult pregnancy. Others have medical conditions which means they need blood products regularly just to say alive or be healthy.

You just need to donate, share your photograph/story on social media and use the hashtag #ATLifeBloodteam. Then screenshot the post/story and email it to nadia@activetruth.com.
Visit donateblood.com.au, and click ‘Log In’
If you have donated blood before, and registered for the online system, enter your login details.
If you haven’t donated blood before or registered on the online system, click ‘Register here’ and follow the prompts.
Once logged in, click ‘MyDetails’ at the top, and then ‘Lifeblood teams’. Enter Active Truth as your group.
Then, click ‘Make a new appointment’
Answer the eligibility questions
Enter your postcode close to home or work where you’d like to donate.
Choose the nearest donor centre.
Choose an appointment time that suits.
Confirm the appointment.
